I don’t know about you guys, but the process of choosing a new bag can sometimes be a daunting task. I want it to be absolutely perfect. It has to match not only my style, but my height, weight, hair color...everything. Since I’m tall and thin, It can’t be overbearing where it looks like I’m carrying around a suitcase. And I’m a male, so I don’t want it too small where it looks like a purse. It is something that is carried close to me - everywhere. Not to say that it really becomes part of me, sort of like the clothes I wear. With that, I decided I needed to put together a little guide to help not only me, but everyone choose the perfect bag. It is an investment and something cherished, yet really doesn’t have to be a mind boggling experience.

I like to shop online. Over the years I’ve gotten used to sitting on my couch, sipping tea and looking for fun products in the comfort of my own home. No more is the time where I have to drive to a mall, fight for parking and make it through the crowds. The only thing is getting used to not being able to touch and feel what I want, or try it on. That’s ok though, most online retailers make the exchange process easy - even easier than having to drive back to said mall to, yet again, make it through the crowds. Ok, where was I? Oh yeah, let’s go through this guide I put together to help anyone and everyone choose that perfect bag.

FUNCTIONALITY

Before you purchase a bag, ask yourself what you want out of it. Will it be an everyday bag or will it be for special occasions only? What kind of items will you be carrying in it? Will you need it for a laptop and books, work or will you just be carrying the essentials? Well, maybe not a clutch for you fellas - even though I think they’re quite nice - they’re usually too small. But you know, that’s just me. This is primarily for females because men prefer functionality more - and that’s ok, they can get away with having a larger bag most of the time. But for ladies, scale is something to consider when choosing your bag. To make a bag look the most flattering, try picking a bag in proportion to your body size. Petite body shapes may find that smaller bags complement their figures better, while taller and broader body shapes can generally get away with carrying larger bags. Of course, if you’re in college or in a profession that requires you to carry all your supplies around with you - then it’s important for both males and females to select a bag that is going to be the right size to hold your laptop, paperwork, files and books.
